Talk to the Horse is an equine facilitated learning centre in Tandragee, dedicated to providing transformative experiences through interactions with horses. Our programs focus on personal development, physical and mental wellbeing, as well as building strong community connections.
Jenny is a qualified riding instructor and had taught many people to ride over the years. She has worked with people from all walks of life and all ages, and recently qualified as an EFL practitioner with Horse Haven to be able to offer EFL services at talk to the horse. She is also a student counsellor having achieved a level 4 certificate in counselling and also undertaking a foundation degree in integrative counselling in college.
Lesley is a qualified riding instructor who has many years experience teaching in riding schools across the country as well as starting up her own riding school. She then got interested in equine assisted learning and qualified with EAGALA at Festina Lente, after which she has worked with people with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and at risk children.
Darragh is a 17 year old horse who Jenny and Lesley bred themselves. He has been a huge part of Jennys life all these years and has taught her so much and given so much enjoyment. He was a lessons horse for a few years but is now retired from riding, and will now be taking part in equine facilitated sessions due to his very kind and gentle nature.
Maydew is our older girl who has taught many people to ride over the years. She is a highland pony who was bought from scotland many years ago. Nothing scares this girl, and due to her being so quiet and calm, she makes the perfect EFL pony for all ages to work with.
Summer is another home bred mare, who is 7 years old. She has yet to start her ridden work under saddle, but due to her very kind and gentle nature she will be a brilliant asset when helping with EFL sessions.
